Arthur couldn’t help but laugh a little himself too as he gingerly pulled away from me, resting both his hands on my forearms, “I-uh… M’sorry, Cam…” he croaked out awkwardly, briefly making eye contact with me before breaking away from embarrassment.
I sniffled and hiccuped a little before finally daring myself to look up at my dad, my eyes flickering into his until he broke eye contact from me, “S-Sorry? For what?” I croaked out, eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
"For being an ass," Charlie said under his breath and yelped when Conner elbowed him.
Arthur was sniffling quietly against my shoulder as he hugged me tight. “Go to hell, Charlie!” he yelled out in a croak.
I tried to stop myself, but despite the tears, I couldn’t help but let out a weak laugh.
Charlie just pouted, hiding his face in Conner’s chest.
